ULRICH VON HASSELL (1881– 1944)
A German diplomat and member of the WWII German Resistance. He used his position in the executive committee of the Central European Economic Congress to discuss, with Allied officials, what might happen after a possible coup d’état in Germany. After the failed assassination attempt of July 20, 1944, he was tried and executed on the same day.
